Connector and Component Identification
WPC Electronics System uses a PC board specific means of identifying connectors and
components. Each plug or jack receives a number that identifies the circuit board and position on
that board that it connects to. For instance, J101 designates board 1, jack 1. J306 designates board
3, jack 6. Identifying the pin numbers of a connector involves a hyphen . For instance , J103~5
designates board 1, jack 3, pin 5.
Fuses are also ident ified in this manner. For instance, F501 designates board 5, fuse 1.
Prefix numbers for WPC boards are listed below.

Circuit Boards
WPC Circuit Boards are located in the backbox. They are accessible by unlocking the backbox,
removing the backglass, unlatching the insert board , and swinging it open. On a WILLIAMS
pinball game the speaker panel must be removed . Grab the speaker panel and lift it up and
forward, out of the backbox. Lay it down on the playfield glass.

Single Display Board.
The CPU Board, pin A~12742·x, is equipped with a 1M or 2M Game
ROM, a Custom Chip, and 68B09E Microprocessor . The CPU
controls al1 logic and switch functions .
The Power Driver Board , p/n A·12697, does not contain any game
specific components, therefore, this board can be transferred
between games without any changes. This board contains the lamp ,
general illumination, flipper, and solenoid circuits. It also supplies
+
18Vfor the lamp circuits, +50V for the solenoid circuits, +5V for the
logic circuits, +12V for the switch circuit, and 6.3V for general
ilJumi nation.
The Display Driver Board,
