Operate Reset Plunger by hand until Rat chet resets
to zero posi tion, i.e., until rese tting movement stops.
Then oper ate Step-up Plunger and, while holding
Step-up Plunger in, check to see that Reset Pawl rests
at base of ratchet-tooth (point at which straig ht and
angular edges of tooth meet ). If Re se rP awl is not at
base of tooth, adjust Spring- Stop (P-3384) until Rat-
chet moves into posi tion to Perm it Pawl properly to
engage tooth, as described. Then check unit manual-
ly by operating Step-Up Plunger. Afte r Reset Pawl
drops into position described above, Step -up Arm
should over-ride approxi mately 1/64 in. before being
stopp ed by Step-Up Arm Stop ("ear" formed in Base
Plate) . Bend Stop one way or another to redu ce or in-
crease over-ride to approximately 1/64 in. Reser Pawl
shou ld then properly drop into base of toot h, without
binding, when Reset Plunger i-s lightly ope rated (with-
out pu sh ing Plunge r a I I the way in).
