Operate Reset Plunger by hand unt il Ratchet resets
to zero posi cion, i.e ,; until resett ing moveme nt stops.
Then opera te Step -up Plunger and , while holding
Step -up Plunger in, check to see that Reset Pawl rests
at base of ratchet-tooth (point at whic h straight and
angular edges of tooth mee t). If Reset Pawl is not at
base of tooth, adjust Spring-Srop (P-3384) unti l Rat -
chet moves into position to Permi t Pawl properly to
engage toot h, as described. Then check unit manual -
ly by operating Step-Up Plunge r. Aft er Res et Pawl
drops into pos ition described above , Step-up Arm
sh au ld over-ride approx imate Iy 1/64 in. before being
stopped by Step-Up Arm Stop ("ear" forme d in Base
Plate). Bend Stop one way or another to reduc e or in-
crea se ove r-ride to approxima tely 1/64 in. Rese t Pawl
should then prope rly drop into base of toot h, withou t
binding, when Reset Plunger is ligh tly operat ed (with-
out pushing Plunge r all the way in) .
