Thanks for your replies. I will hopefully get a chance to check these things out this weekend and report back. Haven't looked at the manual yet to confirm, but I'm guessing the gap gauge is the little thin, notched piece of plastic that was in the coin box? Or is it somewhere else?

Like I said: noob. A very happy noob, but a noob nonetheless. ;D

I just noticed that my left flipper is not cleanly dropping back down into its rest position the way the right flipper does. Doesn't seem to affect flipper strength at all (I can still make all shots easily) but there's a slight slowness, like it's maybe rubbing something underneath the flipper?

I'm not at all a noob to the game but definitely a noob to the intricacies of pin ownership, so if anyone has a handy/quick solution, I'd be appreciative.

I've had my MMR for about a month and this just happened to me today too. "Time and Date Not Set."

I've gone ahead and unplugged that header, played through to get replay, and got no knocker.  Also went into config software and attempted to activate the shaker motor and got no physical response from shaker test in software, so this does completely disable both simultaneously.

Not a perfect solution for everyone, but it works for me.  Thanks! :-)

I see that there's a header on the control board in the back box (J9) that, if I'm reading the manual correctly, controls both the shaker and the knocker. Can I safely just pull this header to disable them both? (I had already turned the shaker motor off in software.)  Or is there a better way that I am not aware of?

Thanks!
