I've talked with CGC and they are producing a slightly longer plunger/link assy for those with the problem, and that will be in a week or two that hopefully that is done. CGC is also working on a hardcoat 'fix' and trying to find the best way to fix any chips in the hardcoat. That is the latest that I had heard on some of the issue.

Rick - Do you know if the fix going forward for new games being built going to be using the new plunger length? Or will the bracket position be adjusted for future games being produced?

Rick,

When production resumes, will the next batch of machines have this longer plunger, or is Stern moving the assembly back so that there will no longer be interference when the slingshot "hammer" is in it's full-forward position?

Rick, for those still waiting on our games, will the slingshot mechanism be moved back to accommodate the normal size slingshot plunger?  This is important to know, so when it needs to be replaced in the future we know if we can use the standard part in the manual and in the drawings.

The bracket position tolerance will be tighter with a specific jig.

Hey Rick what about those where the art work has been effected? My chips are through the black borderline and just starting into the cobble stone area.

Beyond what I just said, then you need to insure that you a) take steps to mitigate any future damage (whatever that might be), and b) Put in a ticket with CGC as they handle any resolution (including shipping of the plunger/links, etc).

Sorry this is an issue but happy there is real progress in fixing it.
I for one have not played my machine since the issue was noted.
Putting in a ticket this week.

I opened a ticket 25 days ago.  Any update on a fix and what's being done to remedy the damaged playfields??

Thank you for bringing this topic to my attention.

I examined my machine and notice there is a small amount of playfield damage/chipping on the left slingshot kicker.

I'm taking photos to document the situation to report to Chicago Gaming.

Again, thanks everyone.

I received an email from Chicago Gaming Company yesterday saying that a "slingshot plunger replacement kit" has been sent my way.

Not sure if it's a replacement kit set or just one (only the left slingshot plunger on my machine was doing the damage).

I'll send an update as soon as I get this sucker installed.
